Field to Fork – My night eating amongst the cows

I had the most wonderful foodie experience a few weeks ago! I attended the Field-to-Fork dinner at St. Brigid’s Farm on the Eastern Shore. I was lucky enough to be a guest of the Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association since I do some marketing work on behalf of Cabot Cheese and I also love food and talk about it all the time. So even before dinner, myself and a group of food bloggers from the D.C. area were treated to a private wine and cheese pairing at Crow Vineyard. Cabot’s Favorite Foodie the wonderful Candace Karu led us through the cheese offering from Cabot’s new Farmer’s Legacy Collection. One of the folks from Crow Vineyard paired their wines with the various cheeses. And the were both SO DELICIOUS! Who knew such great wine was made right here in Maryland?

After our wine and cheese fun, we headed down the road to St. Brigid’s Farm for our yummy dinner.  All 140 of us sat at one long table. It was an intimate dinner with strangers who became dining companions. The evening was beautiful. The food delicious and the scenery was breathtaking. We were surrounded by cows who ate grass and wondered what we were doing.  The food and wine were local and we even sat across from Kevin who made the sausage for the main dish.  It was just an awesome evening and I can’t wait to go back next year. Enjoy some photos from the evening’s events!!
