The post-holidays months are usually a down-time for photographers, myself included. But that doesn’t mean I stop taking pictures! No sir/ma’am. I turn to my own little girls and try to capture them doing something funny, cute, artistic, etc. And these photos have all of that! I love the intensity on my girls’ faces as they draw on poster board. The blonde one is just goofy in her trip-tic and the redhead was so patient as I had her blow handful after handful of hearts. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!!!

This my second time photographing this adorable family. We met at Quiet Waters Park on a chilly, windy day in November. Despite the less than ideal conditions, the girls did so great and we managed to get some smiles and even a few giggles out of them!

The kids had off from school earlier this week so my friend and fellow photographer Nicole Lubin decided it was the perfect time to try a little styled shoot we’d been talking about. We set-up in Nicole’s studio. She had the vision of a fun shoot with disco balls hanging from the ceiling, hats, boas, etc. My daughter has known E- since before they were born (mom and I were in birth class together). They already act like an old married couple and get along so well. They had a great time and did such a wonderful job taking direction from not one but TWO photographers. Holiday Sessions Part III (maryland family photographer)

Now that my sessions for 2011 are all done (yeah!) I can focus on sharing some of my favorite images with you. I also got some new blogging templates that I love. They really help the photos tell a “story.” Plus, I’m addicted to templates.

This first family came by way of a referral from a wonderful client. They live in Ellicott City and have this amazing “ruin” behind their house. It’s an old school that caught on fire, but the stone structure remained intact. So fun! And how gorgeous is this family?

This next family lives in my ‘hood. I had no idea what to expect with three little boys and I was ready for anything. They were incredible. Sweet. Fun. Adorable. Mom did a wonderful job with the outfits and I loved the hats.

These little girls are great friends of ours. So adorable. I love that mom bought wooden letters that spelled “JOY” because that’s exactly what this family is: a joy to photograph.

A Tree Tale (odenton family photographer)

It’s literally been weeks since I’ve blogged. I still have so many sessions to share with you, but I had an opportunity to take some personal pictures yesterday when we went to get our Christmas tree. I loved watching my girls running around the tree lot trying to find their favorite ones. I thought I try out a new blog board (because I’m addicted to templates) and see if helped tell the story of our trek. I like it. Hope you do too!

Holiday Mini-Sessions Part II (Maryland family photographer)

Here we go with round 2 of some of my holiday mini-sessions. It’s so fun having clients come back for another session and see how the kids have grown. I’ve also met a ton of new families and I hope to also watch their kids grow-up. It’s all about freezing that moment in time.

This first family is a repeat client. The nicest, most easy-going people. A dad who never stops smiling and siblings who actually get along. I give mom all the credit!

This next family was part of a group of families whose pictures I took at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis. Their little guy was just about to turn one and couldn’t have been more fun. He had me crawling all over the ground trying to keep up with him.

This is another of the Quiet Waters Park Sessions. Adorable girls. Great parents. Awesome outfits! Mom is on the ball.

This family came to me through a friend. Mom was so nervous about having her picture taken. (SILLY!) She looked wonderful. Her boys were perfect gentleman. Great pics.

Whew! The last month is a blur of holiday mini-sessions. It’s been so great taking pictures of repeat clients and new ones, trying out new locations and revisiting favorite ones. Rather than inundate everyone with blog posts, I thought I’d blog more than one at a time. So, here we go with Part I. Thanks for looking!

The V-Family – Historic Ellicott City.

This is my second time photographing this gorgeous family. I love their energy. I adore their girls. It’s always a great time taking their pictures. How gorgeous are they?

S-Family, MD Sunrise Farm, Gambrills

I’ve known the mom of this family for a few years and I was so happy to take their family photos after daughter #3 came along. Three redheads are better than one, right? Not to mention those incredible blue eyes. WOW!

J-Family – MD Sunrise Farm, Gambrills

I love this family. The little girl is delicious. The boys are handsome and polite. The parents are so easy going. We had a great time at the Dairy Farm in Gambrills. I can’t wait to see them again.

F-Family, Howard County Conservancy

I was so excited to take pictures of this family. Mom attended one of my photography workshops and contacted me at the end of the summer to set-up her session. It was a beautiful, new location and we had a great time with great results!

Bridgie

This is Bridgie. She’ll be two in January. She loves Barbies and her blanket. She thinks her big sister is the greatest person in the whole world and she’ll eat just about anything you put in front of her (even eggplant!).

I’ve taken her picture before, at her Baptism, and I was so happy to have the opportunity to spend some time with Bridgie again. Her mom said I captured the 100 faces they see from Bridgie everyday. She is expressive, she’s curious and stubborn. She has been described as the “heart of our family.”

Bridgie also has Down Syndrome. October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month and I encourage you take a few minutes to learn more about what it is, who it affects and how you can become involved. For more information visit www.ndss.org.
